In this online course we will explore the magic of the Elder Futhark runes through the dreamtime. We will engage in dream incubation with four of the runes during every iteration of the course, gathering and synthesizing the wisdom of the individual and community dreams, and interacting creatively and intuitively with the results. From the experience participants can create unique sets of rune poems or other forms of artistic expression that can be used as personal oracular interfaces. In dreaming the runes we expand and deepen our relationships with these ancient energies and allow them to show us more of who they are through the symbols and content of our dreams.

Participants will also be given access to prerecorded lectures about the runes: “Written Magic and Enchanted Objects” from the Language, Myth, and Magic course, and “Introduction to the Runes” from the Gather at the Well: Foundations course.

Future iterations of the course are intended to work with the remaining Elder Futhark runes in series of four. Participants will be able to continue dreaming the runes in subsequent iterations of the course or on their own. New participants are welcome for each iteration as the introductory first class will be offered each time, and they do not need to be done in any order. We will likely go roughly in the order of the Elder Futhark but I may make some substitutions in the interest of balance within each series.
